Some professionals take advange of the complexity to differentiate beween the various BACB titles! BCaBA’s are not Behaviour Analysts – They have a Bachelor degree in ABA and should be supervised by BCBA’s or the equivalent (psychologists with a Masters Degree who had direct BCBA supervision and have followed ABA accreditted courses):
“The Autism SIG (the Special Interest Group for the Association of Behaviour Analysis) does not consider BCaBAs (vs. BCBA), or individuals with equivalent or less training and experience, to be qualified to independently design, direct, and guide behavior analytic programming for individuals with autism. They may deliver behavior analytic intervention, and may assist with program design, but should be adequately supervised by BCBAs or the equivalent (psychologists or therapists who followed a recognised Masters course in ABA).” (emphasis by ABA consultants and ABA providers)
As a parent, you have the right to request the diplomas.
Mrs Davar, mother of a 4 year old autistic child
« When I first met Fabienne Harris, I had heard a lot about ABA. Before this method, my daughter had very few interests, she made very frequent tantrums and thanks to the application of the method by Fabienne Harris, Noa has become a more sociable little girl, that develops new interests every day, and who accepts to interact with others, even though she does not talk yet. However, she is starting to communicate in adapted ways and makes herself understood better every day.
Thank you for all the work you have provided as I know that it is thanks to you and to the method that my daughter evolves beautifully today.”
« Our son of 5 years old, was taken care of by Fabienne Harris, ABA Psychologist at the ABA Institute in Paris, from September 2010 till July 2011.
Our son has just finished kindergarden where he was intergrated every morning. He was assisted by an educator from the Institute, that followed thecommon recommendations of the Psychologist and the teacher at the school. In the afternoons, the tutor applied the programmes that were written out by our ABA Psychologist, that mostly aimed at decreasing our son’s negative behaviours. The programmes implemented on hygiene were a success as in a few months only our son learnt to go to the toilets spontaneously and without any help. His vocal competences have neatly improved. He pronounces words better and enriches his vocabulary.
We particularly wish to thank our Psychologist, Fabienne Harris, who has provided continuous attention to our needs and thoughts and has conducted an ABA program that enabled our son to evolve as well as to decrease and even suppress negative behaviours. This method has enabled to keep our son in mainstream school which is essential to his social integration.”
“I was introduced to ABA and its methodologies by Fabienne Harris in 2010 in Paris. Fabienne trained me in all the core principles of ABA before I began working as an ABA tutor under her supervision. From the beginning I was in awe of Fabienne’s attention to detail even in the early stages of training. Not only did she give me the learning tools necessary to begin working with a child with autism but she gave me the encouragement and guidance necessary to continue with the programme ensuring that the child progressed to his maximum potential. Fabienne has the gift of making every opportunity a learning opportunity for her clients,.Her painstaking dedication to her work and professional attitude inspired me to take up studies in Applied Behaviour Analysis and pursue it as a career which I am thoroughly enjoying today. Fabienne is a truly inspirational Behaviour Analyst and any family would be lucky to have her on board…….”
“At least two main qualities need to be mentioned regarding Fabienne Harris : Her intelligence and her dedication to work. My point of view on Fabienne is very positive.”
« I heard about ABA about 5 years ago, but two years ago I met Fabienne Harris who trained me to the method so that I could work for a young girl with autism; very quickly, I was able to observe the fabulous progress that she made, thanks to the sessions Mrs Harris supervised. I continued to work with all my families with this method, and I am still surprised to see how much the children progress throughout the sessions. Thank you to Fabienne Harris that passes on her knowledge with great passion and energy.”
“Good team management, good supervision, good relationships with the parents…Excellent…!!”
